Andy Steingold is a native Floridian. He and his wife, Maryanne, along with their 3 children reside in Safety Harbor where Andy serves as Mayor. As Mayor of the City of Safety Harbor Andy has proven his ability to be fair and impartial, treating citizens with the utmost dignity and respect, decisively rendering decisions while presiding over City Commission Meetings, Public Hearings and Quasi-Judicial Hearings.
Experienced
He attained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Florida and a Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law. He has been a member of the Florida Bar for over 24 years. After law school Andy served as a Prosecutor with the State Attorney’s Office in Tampa. After leaving the State Attorney’s Office Andy successfully owned and operated his own law practice (Andy B. Steingold, P.A.) for 8 years concentrating in the areas of criminal defense, divorce and child custody, juvenile dependency, and termination of parental rights.
During his solo practice he also volunteered as an Attorney Ad litem with the Guardian Ad litem’s Office for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in and for Hillsborough County, Florida. For the past 12 years Andy has concentrated his legal practice in the areas of Medical Negligence, Wrongful Death, Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facility Abuse and Products Liability and is currently of counsel with Maney & Gordon, P.A.
Serving His Community
Andy was initially elected to the Safety Harbor City Commission in 2005. He became Mayor of the City of Safety Harbor in 2006 and has been re-elected Mayor in 2007, 2008 and 2011.
He has served as the President of the Pinellas Mayors’ Council, Member of the Pinellas Planning Council, Member of the Metropolitan Planning Council for Pinellas, Member of the Pinellas Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council, Member of the Florida League of Mayors and Board Member of Gulf Coast Jewish Family Services. He was also appointed by the Pinellas Board of County Commissioners in 2010 to serve on the Pinellas Charter Review Commission. Andy was recognized in February 2011 by the Oldsmar City Council with the Council/Manager Award for his leadership efforts, intergovernmental collaberation and commitment to community. He often writes articles for City Scape Magazine and Top of the Bay Journal, speaks at area civic organizations, speaks at the Safety Harbor Elementary 5th Grade Commencement, participates in the Great American Teach In and Paint Your Heart
